Flowserve manufactures and services fluid motion control solutions for the world's toughest, most critical applications. Flowserve's legacy begins when Thomas Simpson founds Simpson & Thompson. Flowserve later acquired NAF in 2002, expanding its reach into pulp and paper. Flowserve is created with the merger of two leading fluid motion and control companies, BW/IP and Durco International. Flowserve purchases Houston-based Innovative Valve Technologies Inc., which strengthens its place in the service sector and emerging Middle East markets. Flowserve purchases Ingersoll-Dresser Pumps, a business unit of Ingersoll-Rand Co., for $775 million, creating the world’s second largest pump company. Flowserve launches its service centers known as Quick Response Centers (QRCs) in strategic locations globally to provide a localized presence and support to customers. Flowserve acquires SIHI Group, which adds vacuum and fluid pump capability to Flowserve’s portfolio.
